BACK PACKING

The Indian Peaks Wildness Area and Rocky Mountain National Park areas provide thousands of acres of wilderness camping opportunities. Both areas require permits and a small fee. Access points for the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area are at Hessie and Fourth of July Trailheads, and Brainard Lake.

PETS

Pets are permitted in the Indian Peaks Wilderness area on leash only. Pets are not permitted on trails within Rocky Mountain National Park. Check at the National Park Visitor Centers for other restrictions.
